how do i forward my ports

ok i just hot the new verizon fios and my cod4 will not work on my ps3 i called them and they gave me the name and password to get into router settings they told me i need to forward my ports they dident tell me how she said google it what a crok
any way dose anyone know how to do this
i get stcuk at downloading game settings somebuddy help me.
