Thumbs up PS3 File Structure

Well some guys said you can view the ps3 filestructure with a USB cable -Beep wrong it is impossible to do that since its a UNRECOGNIZED drive.

I upgraded my Harddrive to a 250Gb drive and did a thorough scan on it on my old drive with Winhex and Ontrack Easyrecovery

Problem is as from cluster 88039700 of 117210239 it stops?. >>Conclusion it is write protected.Used Hexview , I did recover 4 directories with HUGE compressed files in it

Dir0.JPG >>2 X JPG 2gb files
Dir1.ARJ >> 1X ARJ 515mb file
Dir2.GZI >> 5X GZI Files -10GB
Dir3.APD>> 1x APD 2gb file

What you need to do : Only if you want to upgrade your Harddrive and made already backups of your ps3 HDD -remember its destructive

Format your ps3 drive
Use Ontrack Easy recovery and scan for RAW files and Format partitions
It should recover some files in the process -It is defnitely compressed files and you should be able to open it with Linux or Winrar......I am currently scanning and will report back my findings.

So for anyone saying viewing a ps3 HDD with a USB cable -haha do you really think Sony is so stupid to allow that?

I will post my findings soon.....here.Even if we know the file structure we cannot edit it directly -that is the biggest problem, we do might find the ps3 file structure.....up to a certain stage, but my honest opinion Sony did a damn good Job
Its still scanning so I will report back

You can download Easyrecovery here RapidShare: 1-Click Webhosting

i don't know whether or not if i'm in one of them stupid moods but i don't get this one bit.i think its because i'm tired.

edit: oh i think i get it now. if we search and we find a file which we know is in the game data utility folder we can find the structure. great work man. it is nice to see people posting again. since the cyns gone it has been dead quite round here

Nope you recover even formatted data BUT then you musnt copy anything to the drive as it may overwrite the formatted data. But guys it a very lenghly process and my pc bombed out while scanning. I haven't tried it yet.But one thing I know you cannot view the file structure and edit it -it is not recognized at all......

Bottom line it is unhackable for now atleast.Sorry to bring the bad news to all of you
