Well some of my friends told me this and I thought I would share it. It is use full when there are over 6 people in a party and nobody wants to do ground war. Here is how to do it:

The party host needs to select a game mode (whatever is closest to Free-For-All) when it says trying to join potential matches and everyone in your parties name disappears but yours hit circle or x (i think for the 360) and click on free for all quickly before your friends get back into the party. The final result will have you searching for a free-for-all and right as you get it your friends will return from searching for a match and everyone will get into a RANKED game you can screw around and do headshots or whatever you like. No. I tried. Says cannot fill the slots or whatever.
