Constructing the best class.... (statistically)
By using Call of Duty 4 weapon chart, with the most relevant values… | DenKirson's Xanga Site - Weblog I've been messing around with classes, trying to find the theoretical 'best' class (or classes)
So far it's been obvious that the M16 with a Red Dot and Stopping Power is the most powerful and probably overpowered gun in the game, you can't deny that the ability to quickly aim, fire and kill with an accurate 3-burst-fire-shot and score a kill.... .... but what else is there? PLEASE NOTE: BASE PLAYER HEALTH IS 100 I was messing around with snipers and this is (in my opinion) the best sniper class you can get and use: Barrett 50 cal. (The most and highest hit multiplyers (like R700) makes it's damage huge) USP (better clip size than Desert Eagle and anything past it's maximum range will be a sniper job) Stun (slows, damages, blinds - completely OP) Claymore x2 (cover back, you don't need more ammo with the Barrett, it's got enough rounds in it if you're accurate for at least 20 kills) Stopping Power (get's those easy 1 hit kills) Steady Aim (allows for no scoping if someone manages to get through and you don't have time to pull out a USP) Now for the statistics of the gun: The Barrett's base damage is 70 and it has a 1.5 multiplyer on the head, neck and torso. So it's going to easily get a kill without Stopping Power there with a huge 105 damage. With Stopping Power it does a whopping 141.75. This is powerful enough to knock out a Juggernought (which lowers base damage by 25%). 75% of 141.75 = 106.3125 In the stomach, the Barrett has a multiplyer of 1.1, this makes the damage of a Barrett 77. This will not kill. This is where Stopping Power comes in. Stopping Power gives a multiplyer of 1.35. So... 70 x 1.1 x 1.35 = 103.95 = KILL Finally, a leg or arm shot will not give any multiplyer, so damage remains at 70. 70 x 1.35 = 94.5 = NOT KILL So, the Barrett will not kill with an arm or leg shot BUT something can be done. If you whip out your pistol you'll have another 20-40 damage. So, a Barrett shot followed by a USP shot is a guaranteed kill. Can anyone else post their ideas with factual evidence from the site about statistical classes?

Something that isnt mentioned in the guns chart is that Accuracy supports damage. Often R700 or 50 cal shots dont kill even with stopping power, thats due to lack of accuracy. Also if you not using stopping power on the 50cal i recomend Deep impact because it also increases damage

No. You're wrong there.
Accuracy doesn't affect damage, the hit detection does. I believe that the Barrett and R700's bullet/crosshair relationship is slightly off and this can affect where the bullet was aimed and where it actually hit. Deep Impact doesn't affect damage whatsoever unless it's through a wall, in which case, it doesn't increase damage, it reduces the damage lost through a wall.

M21 is best, just use it, I know someone is gonna argue, but that's how I feel

Just depends on how you use it. :) M40A3 and the Barrett .50 Cal are my favorites. I wish you could choose what gun you wanted to be golden.. M40A3 Golden! :D

Can we not turn this thread into a personal preference?
Keep it at statistics only because that's what I'm interested in, if you're not, fuck off, there are plenty of other opinion threads about weapons.

Awesome post, but I'd use the Iron Lung perk as opposed to Steady Aim.

You also have to think about recoil, clip size and reload time when it comes to these 'statistics', you didn't mention how long the barrett takes to reload, which is or is one of the longest reloads out of the snipers.

He speaks wisely. Recoil is the reason that i dont use the .50 Cal too much. I dont really notice the reload time on it though.

All valid points but:
With a 10 Bullet clip if you reload wisely you won't run out of ammo when you need it. Recoil is managable for a 1 hit kill. Also it's sway is 40, better than the 60 from the R700.
