So here we have the M40A3. I know what your thinking the M40A3 is not a one hit kill all the time.

Well with and Acog and stopping power (with the exception of Juggernauts) it will always be a one hit kill.

M40A3 base power = 70 + ACOG = 75
Stopping power, Bullet damage = 140% (so damage x 1.4)
The base health for any player is 100 (Juggernaut just decreases bullet and explosion damage, it doesn't raise the base health).

Damage multiplier:

Head 1.5
Neck 1.5
Chest 1.1
Stomach 1.1
Limbs 1.0

So lets take the M40A3's base damage (with ACOG) and work out the damage it will create (with stopping power) on every part of the body.

BASE HEALTH 100
Head 75 x 1.5 x 1.4 =157.5 (A whopping 57.5 over the needed amount to kill)
Neck 75 x 1.5 x 1.4 = 157.5
Chest 75 x 1.1 x 1.4 = 115.5
Stomach 75 x 1.1 x 1.4 = 115.5
Limbs 75 x 1.0 x 1.4 = 105

So as you can see with the exception of Juggernauts and bullet penetration, if you have an M40A3 with stopping power and an Acog scope, you WILL get a one hit kill.

That's why whenever I do fun no scoping I use the ACOG. I don't think the developers purposely made it stronger though.

I think they did make it serious because no one actually used it, and it's a specific figure. A bug would have given it a random incomplete number.

Although I admit the M40A3 is a good sniper, at the moment I still am in love with the Barrett and I've gone off the R700 :(

I never use a normal scope on the M40A3, it's too slow.

The normal scope is just to slow like Beau said.

I personally used to love the R700 until a update a few months ago where they did something to the sniper rifles and now I cant use it the same anymore it just seems less accurate or not enough damage landed on each shot even with stopping power.

I just use the M40A3 when sniping or scoping and the m21 when in hardcore.

Acog is inaccurate, I can be shooting right where they are at and they are standing still and it takes 3 shots, and noI dont suck at aimming my accuracy is 23% which is better than everyone know
