Lets say I lost my wep or wpa key, my wifi card is not compatible with with winpcap(i think that is the software) and the aircrack suite software(at least the packet sniffing part), the key has never been used on my computer(no way of using a recovery software), and u have little to no experience at anything like this. What can i use to figure out the key?

first off there is no need to hide the fact that you want to use your neighbors wifi which is what it sounds like, i do it too lol

well one way is to go buy some wifi for your self, call g33ksquad or some company like that or just ask that person for their password

ok...I no longer need to get wifi off neighbors(I used to). I do have wifi both at my moms and dads...unfortunately, when im six hours away from home on vacation i do not. Also i like to take my laptop on the road(mom likes to go shopping) and i see lots of secure networks and the closest mall is 45min drive away. I would MUCH rather sit in the parking lot on the Internet than shopping.

Download the program Cain&Able. Its sole purpose is to crack encrypted wifi. I used it here in my neighborhood and easily got pass for the 3 networks close to me.

ok..i downloaded cine and able..but virus program(avast) went crazy[4-5 pop ups as soon as it got done downloading]...although this didnt surprise me b/c it has the ability to be used as hacking software..just wanted to make sure it was safe =]

p.s. if anyone knows a good tut on have to use cain and able or can explain the basics to me then plz do so...any help is appreciated =]
