I don't know I heard there weren't that many vista compatible games for vista yet and that vista isn't really a great operating system for gaming but I wouldn't know first hand because I don't have vista, yet. Anyway I couldn't list you any games old school off the top of my head that would run smooth on vista but I did manage to find a few sites with a list of supposedly "compatible" games for vista but allot of comments left by people seem to have allot of glitching and errors with allot of them.

http://www.tabletquestions.com/vista...st-so-far.html

or

List of Vista compatible games - Thinktechno.com

they might be the same I didn't look through the whole list so there might be a few different games between the lists. if not sorry.

and here seem to be a good one I'm sure you've already been here though but just in-case, they have Age of Empires III there

also keep in mind that quite a bit of software (game included) will run on Vista but only under "XP Compatibility Mode". To try and see if this will work on an app that was written before Vista's release: Find the executable file that launches the game ( gamename.exe ) and right-click on it and proceed to properties. You will find the compatibility mode options there and it's just a matter of a checkbox.
