Hey guys just wondering if i can multi-boot xp because i have vista and some stuff is not compatible with vista so if anyone has info on how to do this and also what are the advantages and disadvantage of doing this.

Well as studying to be a computer technician in college I would not reccomend vista at all as it is the worst OS that i have ever come across. I suggest you rid yourself of it

Vista's flaws are unbelievable and vunerable at points and has too many background procceses.

You'll need to create two partitions, one that already has your Vista information on it, and another for this upcoming XP. I suggest at least 30 GB allotted for this "slave" partition.

After you've partitioned your HDD (or if you have more than one HDD), get a copy of XP somehow, whether it be physical or digital. Install it like normal, but when it asks you where to put it, point in the direction of your "slave" partition.

You should be good to go.

I googled it but because of my noobish its confusing me just to let you know in have:

• Dell inspiron 1720 laptop
• 220 GB NTFS (128 GB FREE)
• windows vista home premium
• Intel core 2 duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz 167GHz
• 2.00GB RAM
• 32 bit OS

Is there any downsides to having this multi-boot will i lose any files or stuff?

^ No, you won't lose anything. The only thing that will happen is that there will be less GB's for your Vista boot, because you're sharing it with XP. It's totally safe, as long as you know what you're doing. There'll be some tutorials if you google it.

will 33.55GB ok for xp i wont be using it alot so i dont wont to much for it
