hmm im not sure then dude, ive never tried to bypass mac stuff before :/
do you know what software your school is running

when i do Control click, the Set as Desktop background is Greyed out if you know what i mean

um yeah i use FireFox as my default web browser. so do i just control Click? i think the school blocked us from being able to change the background from Student MLTI. but i can access System Preferances>Desktop and Screen Saver, but it doesnt chnge when i click the image. help? im a newby to Macs

so what exactly stops you from opening preferences up?
and do you have firefox on it, if so you can use firefox to change the background for you
