How To Capture Video Games
How To Capture AV:
Things You Will Need Capture Card: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pinna...oductDetail.do (this is a good capture card) Price Range:70-120 S-Video AV Cables: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Psycl...oductDetail.do (Using xbox/ps2/gamecube universal cables for example, different cables are needed for different consoles) Price Range:5-15 Way Number One Near Computer This is a great way if you have a computer near by. Step One: Connect your capture card to the computer and install all the necessary software/drivers included. Step Two: Get your Av cables, Plug it into the back of your console, plug the red sound cable and the s-video cable into your capture card, and the yellow video cable and the white sound cable into your TV. This way you can watch tv and record at the same time. Step Three Open up a capturing program, for this instance i am going to use the default video editing program on all windows based computers, Windows Movie Maker. Open up windows movie maker, then look on the left side options untill you see something that says "Capture From Video Device" under the section "Capture Video." ![]() Once you have opened that, you should see a menu like so: ![]() (I have a built in TV Tuner) Step Four Select all of your settings, click next, select your file name, click next, then select your File format (I choose "Best Quality For Playback on My Computer"), click next, then click "Start Capture" to begin recording, when your finished click "Stop Capture" Way Number 2 Away From Computer, VCR or DVD Recorder Needed. Step One you will need two sets of AV Cables, once you have those connect then like so: TV to VCR, then VCR to TV. Now you should see your game on your VCR screen. Press Record on your VCR. Step Two: Once your done take your VCR to your computer, connect it to your capture card, and follow instructions above. Sorry For lack of pictures, I cannot find my capture card that i have been working with. Here are some pictures I found that I think will be usefull: ![]() ![]() ![]() Happy Editing!
