3th person view is done only in single player by button combinations :P
i tried it on multiplayer but that wont seem to work:)
here is a discription of how to do it :)

Third person view
pause the game, then hold L2 and press Square, Circle, Square, Circle, L3(2 times), Triangle, X, Triangle, X, R3(2 times)
