Argon is a good way to go...either that or D2Pro mainly because of the onboard SPI flash witch enable you to completely reprogram your chip!!
I have the Argon myself. I bought it with the wii-clip V2(13 + 4 wires with firmware 1.8) pre-soldered and the programer. I tried for over a week to install it and I was able to determine that the clip was defective. Finally I de-soldered the clip from the chip and soldered the clip in the in the Wii, flashed the chip with the wasabus9 1.1firmware and it's been working perfectly ever since.
However, make sure you verify your D2Cin the Wii to know if you have the new D2C2 chips almost un-modable.
Look at a few links and dig a bit and you should find what you need.

This is what i exactly wanted to know, i have a d2b wiikeyed right now, and just about all my friends have d2c's and i was leary about the clips. I dont really want to do a d2pro or argon install because i am impatient and thats alot of wires. so i guess they are all screwed!! sucks for them. i hear that the clips have a horrible failure rate and just wanted more input on it.

It seems like a good idea, but, it has a 43% fail rate when installing, better of having a soldered chip. 100% success rate :]
